These figures come from independent research, not from QBiz's own audits, and they explain why a first-time check so often returns a failing result.

None of these numbers describe unusual or badly run businesses. They describe the ordinary state of most small and mid-sized service-business websites, which is exactly why a first check so often comes back with findings.

What a passing score does not prove

A technical check answers "can AI platforms read this site." It does not answer the harder question a business owner actually wants answered: "will AI platforms mention me." Those are different questions, and no automated tool bridges the gap between them.

  • It cannot predict citation. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews decide what to cite using retrieval and ranking logic that changes without notice. A perfect technical score earns the business a place in the pool the platform draws from; whether that platform picks it for a given answer is a call the platform makes on its own.
  • It cannot see off-site signals. Press coverage, review volume, and mentions on other trusted sites all influence which of several equally readable businesses an AI system reaches for. A checker only reads your own domain.
  • It cannot measure answer quality. A page can be technically perfect and still say nothing useful. Schema markup confirms structure exists; it does not confirm the content underneath answers a real buyer question.
  • It cannot guarantee consistency over time. AI platforms update their crawling and retrieval behaviour on their own schedule. A clean result today is a snapshot, not a permanent state.

What to do with a pass, a partial pass, or a fail

Fail / blocked

One or more AI crawlers cannot reach your pages at all. Fix this first and alone: nothing else has an effect until access is restored. Check your security plugin's default rules and your robots.txt for a blanket AI-crawler disallow.

Partial pass

Crawlers can reach the site, but schema is thin or missing and metadata is vague. This is the most common result and the most fixable: implement Organization, LocalBusiness and Service schema, then tighten titles and descriptions to state the service and location plainly.

Strong pass
