What AI tells a client about your firm before they call
A prospective client asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews to name a solicitor or attorney before they ever pick up the phone. This library covers what decides whether your firm is named in that answer, cited as a source, or left out of it entirely.
A prospective client rarely finds your firm's name first. They ask an AI engine something closer to "who's a good family solicitor near me" or "is this firm any good". The answer either names your firm as a credible option, or leaves you out of the conversation entirely. This library gathers six guides built around that moment of first contact. Each one covers what a firm's site and public record need to say before an AI system will vouch for it to a stranger it has never met.
The six split into three groups. Two examine the technical signals an AI system parses before it treats a firm as a citable source. One is drawn from a direct audit of 46 US attorney sites; the other breaks down eight separate checks, from schema markup to content freshness. Two answer which engine actually names a firm. One is an SRA-aware playbook for earning that citation as a UK solicitor. The other puts ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews head to head on which sends a firm more traffic. The remaining two are Florida-specific. One separates GEO, AEO and AI SEO and shows how the three combine to get a Florida firm named. The other works through the Florida Bar's Opinion 24-1 and the concrete signals a firm needs to earn a ChatGPT recommendation.
Jurisdiction changes what a firm is permitted to claim, not what an AI engine can read. A Florida practice answers to the Florida Bar's Opinion 24-1 on AI marketing; a UK solicitor answers to the SRA's advertising rules instead. Neither set of rules decides whether the engine can find and cite the firm in the first place. That part is a separate, largely fixable, technical question, and it is the one most of these guides actually answer.
See the AI visibility service for lawyers →These six guides double as a due-diligence checklist: work through them against your own site before a prospective client's AI search runs the same check on you. What decides the outcome is schema markup, service-page content and the citation trail, not case results or courtroom record. Fixing that is what the service page above delivers, from research through to build.
